It is with great pride and pleasure that we can announce the official confirmation of the KNAW of our reaccreditation for the next six years. The report indicates a "near perfect" score for the school. With the present reaccreditation the research school is now part of a select group of research schools that carry the designation of KNAW-accredited research school since the ECOS has been established.
About the ECOS Procedure
The purpose of the accreditation procedure administered by the Research School Accreditation Committee (ECOS) is to accredit research schools that run PhD programmes. ECOS also advises research schools on their teaching and supervision. Research schools are accredited for a six-year period; thereafter, they can apply for re-accreditation. The Research School Accreditation Committee assesses teaching and research at Dutch research schools against specific quality criteria. Approximately two thirds of the accredited research schools resulted from partnerships between research groups at multiple universities.
