Travel and transportation

On April 10 between 9.30 and 12.00 hours, there will be a special bus shuttle service from Leiden Central Railway Station directly to the conference site Hotel De Witte Raaf. On April 13 transportation will be arranged by bus for participants to Leiden Central Railway Station.

BY PLANE AND/OR TRAIN

There are excellent flight connections to Schiphol Airport, the main international airport in the Netherlands. From the airport there are excellent train connections (see planner) in all directions, including Amsterdam Central Railway Station (14-19 minutes, type Amsterdam Centraal in planner) and Leiden Central Railway Station (ca. 16-20 minutes, type Leiden Centraal). When arriving at Schiphol Airport take the train to Leiden Central Railway Station. In the arrival hall of Schiphol you will find yellow signs to the trains. Please buy a ticket first at either the ticket machines (the complicated ones take coins, no credit cards!) and follow the directions in English on the machine or go to the ticket counter and buy your (one-way) ticket there (±5 euro). Please note that the airport and also the trains are notorious for pickpockets. Be extremely careful with belongings and your wallet. Do not leave your luggage unattended in stations, platforms, waiting areas or in the train. Always take your luggage with you. Be careful not to be distracted, for instance when you board or leave the train. Once you have bought your ticket in the Schiphol Station hall, go down the stairs to the platform. After arrival at Leiden Central Railway Station on Wednesday April 15, follow the walking signs to Centre (downtown). In the Station hallway you will find our assistants with the sign "Tulip 2012" and they will show you where the shuttle is waiting for you to bring you to the hotel.
